Job summary

BlueLinx seeks experienced CDL drivers for home nightly runs on first shift. Starting pay is $33.75 per hour with no tarping—loads secured by strapping on flatbed or curtain side trailers with new equipment. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, PTO/holidays, and tuition reimbursement are provided.

You will secure loads, deliver accurately, manage PODs, interact professionally with customers, and perform daily safety checks including DOT inspections in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Minimum 21 years old.
• 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the past 3 years.
• Safe driving record (no major incidents).
• Ability to secure loads and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Secure loads (no tarping, use strapping).
• Deliver freight accurately and handle returns when required.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork.
• Interact professionally with customers and address issues.

What You’ll Deliver:

• Properly secure loads. NO tarping – ONLY strapping
• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and handling of customer product returns when required
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports
• Direct the unloading by customers, when required

How You’ll Deliver:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 21 years of age
• 12 months of recent verifiable tractor trailer experience in the past 3 years
