Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. in Birmingham, AL seeks a Class A CDL driver to securely strap loads and deliver freight on time while upholding safety and DOT requirements. Expect professional customer interactions and accurate POD handling.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL.
• At least 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• A safe driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Secure loads with straps (no tarping).
• Deliver freight accurately and handle returns per procedures.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate issues.
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform required DOT inspections.
• Maintain electronic trip logs and complete trip reports.
• Direct unloading by customers when required.

What You’ll Deliver:

• Properly secure loads. NO tarping – ONLY strapping
• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and handling of customer product returns when required
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports
• Direct the unloading by customers, when required

How You’ll Deliver:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 21 years of age
• 12 months of recent verifiable tractor trailer experience in the past 3 years
• Safe Driving Record
• Ability to secure loads
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
