Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking experienced truck drivers in the United States, Illinois region. This role offers home nightly and weekends, with starting pay of $27.94 per hour.

You will operate on flatbed and curtain side trailers, using strapping instead of tarping, with new equipment and a focus on safety. Ideal candidates have a valid Class A CDL, 3+ years of tractor-trailer experience, and a clean safety record.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 21 years old.
• 3+ years of recent verifiable tractor trailer experience.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to secure loads.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Moffett experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure loads using straps; no tarping.
• Deliver freight accurately and on time; handle returns when needed.
• Process Proof of Delivery paperwork.
• Interact professionally with customers and relay issues.
• Complete daily safety checks and required DOT inspections.
• Maintain electronic logbook and trip reports.
• Coordinate unloading with customers when needed.

What You’ll Deliver

• Properly secure loads. NO tarping – ONLY strapping
• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and handling of customer product returns when required
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports
• Direct the unloading by customers, when required
