Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at rural summer camp kitchens in Texas. You will oversee prep and production for day parts, lead staff, and ensure allergen safety in a fast-paced setting.

This seasonal, full-time exempt position runs May through Sept, with a minimum 6-day, 70-hour week. Live on-site, offering competitive pay, room and board, travel expense assistance, and opportunities to lead a vibrant camp team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date.
• Live on-site in a rustic camp setting and work a demanding minimum 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee culinary operations, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
• Strict allergen and safety compliance management (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.).
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
