Lee County's Human and Veteran Services seeks a Temporary Eligibility Specialist to support LIHEAP within the Family Impact Unit. This grant-funded role focuses on timely, accurate application processing and delivering empathetic service to residents seeking energy assistance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in human services; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Fingerprint background check is required, and the work schedule follows Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years in human services or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in emotionally sensitive or high-pressure situations.
• Basic math and data entry skills; comfortable with Windows-based software.

Responsabilités

• Review and process LIHEAP applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Follow up with applicants to collect required documentation and clarify information.
• Communicate with clients, utility providers, and partner agencies regarding program services and eligibility.
• Participate in outreach events to increase awareness of available energy assistance.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, both digital and paper-based.
• Perform general administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, mailing, copying, and data entry.
• Work cooperatively within the Family Impact Unit and with cross-departmental teams to ensure coordinated service delivery.
• Interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned in support of program goals.
