Job summary

Sieda Community Action seeks an Economic Support Specialist I to manage daily economic program operations at the Appanoose County office in Centerville. The role covers LIHEAP, ECIP, referrals, and special projects, with occasional travel to nearby counties.

You will work 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, in a client-facing capacity. Requires a HS diploma or GED; 1 year of public-facing experience; basic computer skills and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Requires 1 year of experience working with the public.
• Prefer knowledge of issues surrounding persons experiencing poverty.
• Moderate level computer knowledge; ability to use existing program software with minimal training.
• Requires a driver's license, vehicle and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Operate daily economic program activities in county resource centers (LIHEAP, ECIP, referrals).
• Assess client needs and input data into agency databases and LIHEAP system.
• Make referrals to community resources to address barriers for clients.
• Open and close Resource Center in outer counties as needed.
• Travel to cover seven counties and sometimes communicate with utility providers to arrange assistance.
• Process applications and income eligibility checks for Sieda programs.
