Job summary

Waters Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced life science instrumentation across client locations.

This role requires travel, strong technical knowledge of laboratory equipment, and the ability to train customers while ensuring compliance with FDA/GMP standards. On-site collaboration and responsiveness are essential to service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years field service experience in life sciences/medical devices preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical and optical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of laboratory instruments (liquids handlers, mass spectrometers, sequencers, cell analyzers).
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues using schematics, diagnostics, and manuals.
• Provide training to customers on operation and basic maintenance.
• Maintain service records via CRM.
• Manage spare parts inventory for timely repairs.
• Collaborate with sales, support and R&D to feedback on product performance.
• Adhere to FDA, GMP and safety protocols.
• Travel extensively to customer sites within designated region.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships as primary technical contact.
