Job summary

Waters is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service, maintain, and implement field corrective actions on BD Life Science equipment at customer sites in clinical and research labs. You will travel up to 50% and work from customer sites, reporting to the District Service Manager, with formal instrument training and on-the-job certification.

The role requires an associates degree in engineering, strong IT skills, customer-facing communication, and readiness to work varied shifts

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical, mechanical or similar engineering degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; able to use computer-based tools for reports and communication.
• Willingness to work different shifts including nights and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and stand for long periods.
• Valid driver's license with 3+ years driving history.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50% of time.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to interact with customers and colleagues professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide service, preventive maintenance, modifications and installations of BD LifeSiences equipment at Customer sites with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot system failures and provide on-site customer repairs; responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs.
• Manage company assets including, cell phone, computer, tablet, tools, inventory parts, etc.
• Establish and foster positive business relationships with customers and peers
• Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, recording time worked, training, expense reporting, etc.
• Provide ongoing feedback to customers in regards to instrument repair and status.
• Interfacing regularly with the Technical Support organization in order to provide the highest level of customer support
• Work closely with district team leads and dispatch to schedule and support customer base.
