Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks seller-doer engineers who blend business development with technical review, acting as engineer of record on projects you win. You’ll develop a client book, scope and price proposals, and lead field technicians while coordinating with the Sugar Land laboratory.

Based in Texas, you’ll travel to client offices and jobsites as needed. Base salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000 with revenue share; travel and per diem are provided as assigned.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering (or eligible by comity within 90 days).
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven ability to bring in work or a credible plan to develop business in the market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
