Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to blend business development with technical leadership in materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspection. You will manage client relationships, seal reports, and coordinate with our Sugar Land laboratory while traveling to client sites in your market.

The role emphasizes selling, engineering review, and leading field teams, with base salary plus revenue sharing tied to the clients you develop.

Qualifications

• Active PE license civil/geotechnical/structural or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve issues, and seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the lab for testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
