Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed engineers to blend business development with engineering oversight. You will cultivate a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services, while steering proposals and pricing.

As engineer of record on your wins, you review data, seal reports, direct field staff, and coordinate with our Sugar Land lab, traveling to client offices and jobsites in your market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work, or credible plan to win business in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, resolve issues, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
