Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to act as a seller-doer in Texas. You will develop client relationships with general contractors, owners, and design firms, and you will review data and seal reports on projects you win.

You balance business development with engineering work, directing field staff and coordinating with the laboratory, while traveling to client offices and sites within your market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state or eligible by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
• Proven track record in bringing in work or a credible plan to develop market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and avoiding unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports/letters, and coordinate with lab.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
