Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to act as seller-doers in Texas. You will build and maintain client relationships while managing technical workloads, pricing, and sealing reports and geotechnical letters.

You will lead proposals, coordinate with the Sugar Land lab and field staff, and travel to client offices and jobsites to win and deliver projects.

Qualifications

Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Record of bringing in work or a credible plan for how you would in this market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, seal reports/letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
