Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to act as seller-doers, balancing business development with technical workload. You will maintain client relationships, price and write proposals, and seal geotechnical and materials reports for projects while coordinating with our Sugar Land laboratory and field staff.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Record of bringing in work or a credible plan for doing so in this market.
Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
