Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers to blend business development with technical workload. You’ll cultivate clients, price and propose testing programs, and seal reports as engineer of record on won projects.

Travel to client sites and collaboration with Sugar Land-based lab teams are required. Base salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000, with additional revenue sharing tied to clients you develop and invoices collected.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required in the posting state or via comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or credible plan to develop business.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve tests, seal reports and letters.
• Direct field technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules; represent the company at meetings.
