Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who blend business development with detailed technical work. You will cultivate relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms, scope and price proposals, and convert opportunities into signed work while serving as engineer of record on the projects you win.

With Sugar Land, Texas as a base for the company’s lab and support, you will travel to client offices and jobsites in your market.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Proven track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field/lab data, seal reports/letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
