Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a seller-doer engineer licensed in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering. You will manage client relationships while reviewing tests, sealing reports, and driving business development across materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspection.

You will balance engineering work with sales activity, travel to client sites, and coordination with Sugar Land laboratory staff.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven ability to bring in work or credible plan to achieve it.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record; review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
