Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to act as seller-doer engineers. You will cultivate a book of clients, scope and deliver testing and geotechnical services, negotiate terms, and seal reports. You’ll travel as needed, with the Sugar Land lab supporting the work.

You will split time between business development and technical review, reviewing field and lab data, resolving issues, and ensuring timely, sealed communications for clients across the market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• A track record of bringing in work, or a credible plan for how you would in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win; review data, seal reports and letters.
