Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a seller-doer licensed Professional Engineer to develop and manage client relationships while directing technical work. You will price and write proposals, seal geotechnical reports, and lead field and laboratory coordination.

The role combines business development with engineering responsibilities, rewards revenue growth, and requires regular travel to client offices and sites in your market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil/geotechnical/structural engineering, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to develop business in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review field and lab data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
