Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to blend business development with technical workload. You’ll develop client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports as the engineer of record.

You’ll travel to client sites and manage project testing with our laboratory team, while earning a base salary of $115,000 to $150,000 plus revenue share based on the book of business you bring.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
