Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who thrive as seller-doers, blending business development with technical leadership.

You will build and manage a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services, scope and price proposals, negotiate terms, and seal reports on projects you win.

Base salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000 with a revenue share on client-derived revenue, and travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state or eligible by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects: review field and laboratory data, seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
