Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to grow client relationships while delivering geotechnical, materials testing, and special inspection services. You will manage proposals, pricing, and contracts, and serve as engineer of record on the projects you win.

Qualifications

Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or able by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services; scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
