Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to blend business development with technical leadership in materials testing, geotechnical services, and related inspections. You will cultivate client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports as engineer of record.

Expect travel to client offices and sites while leveraging our laboratory support and certified field staff to deliver quality projects.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or credible plan to win business in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects won: review field and lab data, resolve tests, and seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
