Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers to blend business development with technical leadership. You’ll manage client relationships, review testing programs, and seal reports while expanding the project book in your market.

You bring a PE license, 6+ years in materials testing or geotechnical work, and a proven ability to price and negotiate contracts. Travel and leadership of field teams are expected in this western and central U.S. role.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities to signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
