Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who excel in both business development and technical leadership. You will build and manage a client book for materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspection while sealing reports and directing field and lab teams.

Responsibilities include pricing, proposal writing, and converting opportunities into signed work, plus traveling to client offices and job sites.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state or able to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so.
• Comfortable pricing and negotiating contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review data and seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner and industry meetings in the market.
