Job summary

AEG is seeking a Licensed Optician in the United States to join our optical team in Springfield, MA. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear that fits prescription, lifestyle, and style, ensuring proper frame fit and accurate lens dispensing.

Responsibilities include communicating with technicians and doctors, interpreting prescriptions, updating the EHR, and providing exceptional customer service. ABO/NCLE preferred but not required; state licensure required.

Qualifications

• State Licensure.
• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with complete product/service explanations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments; ensure proper fit and measurements.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR/ALE systems.
• Follow-up on orders and update patients on status; escalate issues as needed.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranties, and protection plans.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance plans, benefits, copays, and coverage.
• Communicate with technicians and managers to coordinate orders.
• Inspect final products for quality; perform adjustments and repairs as needed.
