Job summary

AEG is seeking a Licensed Optician dedicated to delivering exceptional eyewear solutions and patient care in a dynamic setting. You will assist patients in choosing eyewear that fits prescription, lifestyle, and personal style, ensuring precise measurements and proper lens dispensing.

You will interpret prescriptions, manage orders in the EHR/ALE system, educate patients on care, warranties, and insurance benefits, and collaborate with technicians and doctors to maintain high service standards.

Qualifications

• State licensure is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience essential.
• HIPAA compliance knowledge preferred.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient by explaining customized recommendations for products and services.
• Take and return patient calls, update patients on order status and resolve issues; escalate to management when needed.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings based on prescription, lifestyle and personal style.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, insurance coverage, warranties and protection plans.
• Maintain understanding of medical and vision insurance plans, eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, authorizations, and coverage limitations.
• Interpret prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists; enter into EHR and ALE systems with proper documentation.
