Job summary

AEG is seeking a Licensed Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit prescriptions and lifestyle, ensure accurate measurements, and dispense lenses with precision.

Responsibilities include educating patients on insurance, warranties, and care, maintaining EHR records, and coordinating with technicians to ensure timely order completion. State licensure required; ABO/NCLE preferred.

Qualifications

• State licensure required to practice as an optician.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge helpful.
• Proficient in using EHR and medical software.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories based on prescriptions and lifestyle.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing.
• Explain insurance coverage, warranties, and service plans to patients.
• Take calls and update patients on order status; escalate issues as needed.
• Keep up-to-date with products, rebates, lenses, and frame options.
• Dispense glasses and adjust for comfort and visual acuity.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers for order status and issues.
