Job summary

AEG is seeking a Licensed Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will assist patients with frame and lens selections, ensure proper measurements, and dispense lenses accurately while maintaining high service standards.

You will interpret prescriptions, educate patients on insurance and care options, and manage order status from intake to alignment. AEG emphasizes leadership and teamwork in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• State licensure required.
• High School diploma or GED.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Experience in optical dispensing.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• PC skills: MS Office, Windows, word processing.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Customer service experience a plus.
• Manual dexterity and precision.

Responsibilities

• Provide eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care.
• Assist patients in frame and lens selection based on prescription and lifestyle.
• Ensure proper frame fit and accurate lens dispensing.
• Interpret prescriptions written by Optometrist/Ophthalmologist.
• Enter patient data into EHR/ALE systems.
• Educate patients on care, warranties, and insurance coverage.
• Coordinate order status and follow-ups with patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice.
• Communicate with technicians and managers as needed.
• Assist with routine adjustments and repairs.
