Job summary

AEG is seeking a Licensed Optician in Boston to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear, ensure proper frame fit and lens dispensing, and deliver outstanding service.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, educating patients on insurance and care options, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products and procedures. This is a full-time on-site role in Boston with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• State licensure required to practice as an Optician.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience required.
• HIPAA familiarity preferred.
• Strong PC skills (MS Office, Windows).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Customer service and sales experience preferred.
• Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription and lifestyle.
• Interpret prescriptions from Optometrist and Ophthalmologist and dispense lenses.
• Ensure proper frame fit and accurate measurements.
• Educate patients on insurance, warranties, and care options.
• Maintain knowledge of products, rebates, lens types, and coatings.
• Enter prescriptions into EHR/ALE and manage order status communications.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers to ensure timely completion of orders.
