Qualifications

• State licensure as an optician.
• High School diploma or GED.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• PC skills including Microsoft Office, Windows and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories tailored to lifestyle and prescription.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, and lens dispensing with care.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR/ALE system and maintain patient charts.
• Follow up on orders and inform patients of status or delays.
• Educate patients on lens options, care, warranties, and insurance benefits.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers to ensure smooth patient service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice environment.
