Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Community Manager in Chicago to help oversee leasing, compliance, and resident services.

Under supervision of the Community Manager, you will support operations, handle recertifications, rent collections, and reporting to meet occupancy and revenue targets. Qualifications include a college degree or 3+ years in property management or related fields, 2+ years of industry experience, and proficiency with Yardi and MS Office.

Qualifications

• College degree or 3+ years in a progressive property management career path.
• 2+ years of experience in property management, hotel, hospitality or retail.
• COS/LIHTC/ARM certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal Housing Laws and guidelines.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Yardi or similar software.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site operations and coordinate with the Community Manager.
• Maintain occupancy goals and manage recertifications, aiming for high occupancy.
• Prepare re-certifications, leasing applications, verifications and reports.
• Screen applicants for Tenant Selection Plan compliance and regulatory standards.
• Monitor market conditions and conduct quarterly market analyses.
• Enter and code invoices, post rents, deposits and maintain ledgers.
• Collect rents and issue late notices as required.
• Oversee office functions and supervise staff as needed.
• Inspect property and report maintenance issues to the service team.
