Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee leasing, compliance, maximizing rental income and delivering a quality living experience. The role emphasizes operations administration and meeting regulatory objectives.

COS and LIHTC certifications are strongly preferred. The position requires five days a week in office, with responsibilities including recertifications, rent postings, occupancy reporting, and supervision of staff and maintenance

Qualifications

• College degree or 3+ years in a progressive career path in Residential Property Management, Hotel, Hospitality or Retail Management required.
• 2+ years of experience in Property Management, Hotel, Hospitality or Retail required.
• Industry designations (COS, LIHTC, ARM, etc.) preferred.
• Knowledge of all regulatory programs, polices and Federal Housing Laws and Guidelines required.
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Yardi or other industry software experience required.
• Proven Excellent Customer Service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with daily site operations and communicates with key staff.
• Monitors leasing, retention and re-certifications to meet occupancy goals.
• Prepares re-certifications, leasing applications, verifications, occupancy agreements and reports.
• Screens applicants to ensure compliance with Tenant Selection Plan and regulations.
• Maintains resident ledgers and processes rent deposits and payments.
• Oversees office functions including hours, filing, reports, and computer systems.
• Inspects property and coordinates with maintenance for issues.
• Assists recruitment, training and performance reviews.
