Job summary

Stantec is seeking a technical lead to guide wastewater projects across the Southwest United States. The role focuses on delivering technically sound designs while nurturing client relationships and pursuing new business opportunities.

The position requires a PE license, 7+ years in water/wastewater, and a proven track record in leading teams and coordinating complex project deliverables. A flexible work environment supports remote work as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry, with at least 1 year managing projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for wastewater projects, including managing existing client relationships and bringing in new clients.
• Supervise engineers, set priorities, budgets, and schedules with Project Managers.
• Coordinate process design, detailed design, specifications, and construction documents with equipment vendors.
• Act as a technical resource and mentor for team members.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and funders to determine project requirements and approvals.
• Stay current on regulatory policy changes and engage with regulatory officials as needed.
• Support marketing and business development in proposals, client interviews, and contract negotiations.
• Assist Project Managers as issues arise with clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Engage in professional organizations, write technical papers, and present at conferences.
