Job summary

Stantec’s Walnut Creek, California Water practice is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Technical Lead to guide multi-disciplinary teams in the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure. The role emphasizes leadership, client service, and project management across design, construction, and delivery phases.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, 8+ years of water/wastewater experience, and a California PE license (or ability to

Qualifications

• Experience leading water/wastewater treatment or conveyance designs from pursuit to construction.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams with internal staff, subconsultants, vendors.
• Strong client service, project management, and design management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mentor junior professionals in California offices.
• Ability to meet client budgets and quality management requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and leadership for water and/or wastewater projects.
• Manage projects through design-bid-build and alternate delivery methods.
• Direct work of project teams across multiple disciplines.
• Develop reports, planning studies, specifications, calculations, drawings, and submittals.
• Coordinate with clients during planning, design, and construction.
• Support innovation through conferences, associations, and partnerships.
• Collaborate with leadership, pursuit teams, and PMs on project delivery.
• Mentor and develop staff in California offices.
• Uphold Stantec’s safety procedures and protocols.
