Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect patient care in the operating room. The role involves assisting surgeons, preparing operative setups, and ensuring sterility and readiness for a wide range of procedures.

Mentoring peers and supporting case transitions are essential for efficiency and patient safety. The candidate should hold a Surgical Technology certificate and an associate degree, with BLS current or within 30 days.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days is required.
• Certificate/degree in Surgical Technology required.
• Experience/leadership in surgical tech environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures in a timely, accurate, efficient manner.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient entry.
• Assist in cases and run mayo setup independently when needed.
• Precept and mentor RNs and technologists in surgical events.
• Coordinate instrument availability and case flow for a variety of procedures.
