Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent.
• Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in before patient entry.
• Organize back table and Mayo stand for smooth case flow.
• Provide necessary supplies and anticipate case needs.
• Observe surgeon techniques and adapt as required.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs; mentor students as needed.
• Assist in first scrub, first assist, and second scrub roles.
• Handle case closing activities and turnover; maintain asepsis.
