Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer - Protection and Controls to design substations, perform protection calculations, and tune relay settings that keep power flows safe and reliable.

You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to bring designs from concept to field deployment. The role requires a ABET‑accredited Electrical Engineering degree and at least 6 years of Substation experience with protection & control, plus familiarity with IEEE/NESC codes and tools like

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Substation engineering with a primary focus on protection & control.
Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic.
Basic understanding of SCADA design.
Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Strong familiarity with NESC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Substation Design & Drafting: develop drawings such as single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and coordination with Civil Engineering for foundations.
Engineering Analysis & Calculations: perform ground grid, lightning protection, voltage drop, conduit fill, and relay sizing analyses.
Protection & Control: develop relay settings with other departments and vendor engineers.
Technical Documentation & Specifications: create equipment specs and work scopes.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance: ensure on-time, compliant electrical design across teams.
Field Support: provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
