Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to lead the Substation Electrical team in North America within the Power Delivery & Renewables unit. You will perform hands-on design, studies, and project management for utility and developer clients, coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines and driving client engagement.

The role requires a strong team player with excellent communication, travel up to 20%, and a focus on safety, quality, and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in substation engineering design, studies, and related HV/EHV work for utility, developer, or large industrial facilities.
• PE License required; experience with NEC/NESC, IEEE codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Substation Electrical team and coordinate with Power Delivery & Renewables leadership.
• Manage development from conceptual layout through detailed design and construction support.
• Coordinate with civil, protection & control, and planning teams to deliver complete design packages.
• Serve as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, and Technical Lead to support client growth and project execution.
