Job summary

DSI Tech is expanding its infrastructure services with a dedicated Structured Cabling practice in Ashburn, VA. We seek an experienced Solutions Architect to lead technical design from customer conversation to implementation handoff, building BOMs, SOWs, and proposals for complex cabling projects.

The ideal candidate will perform on-site surveys, craft compliant designs using copper and fiber, and collaborate with sales and delivery teams to win and deliver projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing structured cabling and telecom infra projects.
• Strong knowledge of Cat6, Cat6A, single/multi-mode fiber, backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Experience with MDF/IDF design, rooms, racks, patching, pathways and grounding.
• On-site surveys and translating field conditions into design.
• Detailed BOMs and supporting cost estimates.
• Design packages, cable schedules and implementation documentation.
• Experience with data centers, campuses or enterprise cabling environments.
• Familiarity with NEC and ANSI/TIA standards; CAD/markup tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design of structured cabling solutions from discovery to BOM.
• Develop Bills of Materials including cabling, racks, enclosures and connectors.
• Prepare Statements of Work with scope, assumptions and acceptance criteria.
• Create drawings and cable schedules using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio.
• Review RFPs and specs to define technical requirements and questions.
• Develop and review RFIs and participate in scope clarification meetings.
• Collaborate with sales and estimating teams for compliant, competitive solutions.
• Present designs to customers with clear explanations of trade-offs.
• Handoff to project managers with defined expectations and documentation.
• Provide on-site support during installation for design clarification.
