Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work schedule for a lead design engineer in structural engineering. You will guide a team of structural engineers, interface with other discipline engineers, and work directly with clients on nuclear facilities and upgrades.

You will lead and mentor a structural engineering team on projects for new nuclear facilities and plant upgrades, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years experience in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures.
• Proficient with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
• Proficient with design codes and standards (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a structural engineering team on nuclear projects.
• Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and drawing development.
• Oversee structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field coordination.
