Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer to guide a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects, including new builds and upgrades. The role interfaces with multidisciplinary engineers and clients, requiring strong technical leadership and collaboration.

The position supports a hybrid work schedule with in-office presence three days per week, and offers extensive benefits and career growth within our Nuclear Power Group.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience on nuclear facility design projects.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, N690, ACI 318, and ACI 349.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects.
• Interface with engineers from other disciplines and with clients.
• Prepare, review, and provide guidance for design calculations and specifications.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
