Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in structural engineering for nuclear facilities. The role involves guiding a team of engineers, interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams, and direct client engagement. You will lead design reviews, calculations, and field coordination on complex projects.

The position requires extensive experience, ABET-accredited BSCE, and a PE/SE license. Some travel to client sites may be involved, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Twenty or more years of experience in design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers and mentor junior staff.
• Interface with engineers from other disciplines and with clients.
• Prepare, review, and guide design calculations and drawings development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field coordination as needed.
