Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in structural engineering for nuclear facilities. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days.

You will lead a team of structural engineers, interface with other disciplines, and work directly with clients on projects for new nuclear facilities, upgrades, and plant modifications. Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• 20+ years in design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures.
• Proficient in structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
• Familiar with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI design codes; strong communication.
• PE or SE license; MSCE is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects and guides design.
• Prepare, review, and provide guidance on design calculations and specs.
• Develop drawings in collaboration with designers; ensure quality reviews.
• Travel occasionally for client reviews, vendor meetings, and site verification.
