Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer to head a structural engineering team focused on new nuclear facilities and upgrades. You will guide engineers, interface with multi-disciplinary teams, and interact directly with clients.

The role emphasizes applying knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and potential site travel for reviews and field verification.

Qualifications

• BSCE in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Ten or more years in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS).
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects.
• Interface with engineers from other disciplines and with clients.
• Guide design calculations and development of specifications and drawings.
• Possibly travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field coordination.
