Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer to guide a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects, upgrades, and modifications. You will interface with clients and other disciplines, review calculations, and develop design specifications.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, and provides opportunities to mentor staff and advance your career within a leading nuclear engineering practice.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE in Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures.
• Proficiency with STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes.
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers on nuclear facility projects and upgrades.
• Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and review drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers from other disciplines and clients.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification as needed.
