Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in structural engineering for nuclear facilities. The role combines leadership of a structural team, collaboration with multi-discipline engineers, and direct client interface.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
12+ years of experience in design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
Familiarity with design codes such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of structural engineers and mentor staff.
Interface with engineers from other disciplines and clients.
Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and coordinate drawing development.
Oversee structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification as needed.
