Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer to lead and support bridge projects in the Infrastructure Market.

You will perform complex calculations, use analysis/design software, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on national projects. Required is a Civil Engineering degree with structural focus, PE/SE registrations preferred, and 5+ years of bridge experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework is required.
• Minimum 5 years of bridge experience is required.
• PE/SE registrations preferred or required.
• IDOT NBIS Team Leader (preferred) and DOT bridge design practices knowledge are advantageous.
• Experience with IDOT/Illinois Tollway/FDOT/TxDOT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in leading bridge projects within Hanson’s Infrastructure Market, including highway and railway bridges, and potentially other structural projects across various markets.
• Perform complex engineering calculations and utilize software tools for analysis and design.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff and multidisciplinary teams on significant national projects.
• Conduct structural analysis and design, prepare specifications, details, and construction plans.
• Assign duties, manage project budgets, and mentor entry- and mid-level staff and technicians.
• Prepare and review calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
• Support project pursuits and proposal development.
• Assist in developing project scopes and fee proposals.
• Other duties as assigned.
