Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer in Austin, TX to lead and contribute to highway, railway and other structural projects.

You will perform advanced calculations, design using Risa, Midas, LARSA and other tools, and collaborate with senior staff on significant national projects. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 5+ years of experience, PE license, and SE registration (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural bridge design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
• Structural Engineer (SE) registration or ability to obtain one; SE preferred.
• Experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, FDOT and TxDOT preferred.
• Experience with complex bridge types and components.
• Participation in technical societies and project staff management.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in leading bridge projects within Infrastructure Market.
• Perform complex engineering calculations and use design software.
• Collaborate with senior staff and multi-disciplinary teams on national projects.
• Prepare specifications, details, and construction plans.
• Assign duties, manage budgets, and mentor staff.
• Prepare and review calculations, take-offs, and cost estimates.
• Support project pursuits and proposal development.
• Assist in developing project scopes and fee proposals.
