Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to lead complex bridge projects within the Infrastructure Market. You will perform advanced calculations, use specialized software, and collaborate across disciplines on nationwide projects.

The role emphasizes mentoring staff, managing budgets, and supporting proposals. A PE and SE eligibility with DOT project experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with structural focus required.
• Minimum 5 years of bridge design/analysis experience.
• Master's degree preferred; PE and SE registrations strongly desired.
• PE is required; SE registration or eligibility required; SE preferred.
• NBIS/IDOT team leadership and DOT bridge design exposure preferred.
• Experience with IDOT, Tollway, FDOT, TxDOT projects is a plus.
• Experience with complex bridge types and components.
• Active participation in technical societies recommended.
• Experience managing project staff and budgets.
• General Contractor license is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in leading highway/railway bridge projects.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations and design tasks.
• Collaborate with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare specifications, construction details, and plans.
• Mentor entry- and mid-level staff and technicians.
• Prepare takeoffs, cost estimates, and project quantities.
• Support pursuits and proposal development.
• Help develop project scopes and fee proposals.
• Other duties as assigned.
